9th Grade Curriculum
The following is a list of course offerings for 9th graders.
Language Arts Sequence
9th Grade LA: ALL 9th Grade students will take 9th Grade Language Arts.
Point to Remember:
All students must take and pass 4 years (8 semesters) of Language Arts courses to graduate
Social Studies Sequence
There is no required social studies course for 9th Grade students. However, they can register for EITHER World Geography OR AP Human Geography if they choose.
Point to Remember:
All students must pass 3 years (6 semesters) of social studies to graduate which include:
World History or AP World History
US History or AP US History
Economics or AP Macroeconomics (one semester course)
American Government or AP American Government (one semester course)
Science Sequence
9th Grade Science: All 9th Grade students will take Biology.
Point to Remember:
All students must take and pass 4 years (8 semesters) of science courses which include:
Biology
Chemistry
Physics
4th year of Science Elective
Other 9th Grade Classes
All 9th grade students will be registered for Health (one semester) and Personal Fitness (one semester) to meet graduation requirements.
The other two class periods will be filled by electives. Students will have the opportunity to provide input on their elective preferences through the Registration process but will be placed based upon class availability.
Math Sequence
9th Grade Math: 9th Grade students will take Algebra I, Geometry, or Accelerated Geometry, based upon their 8th grade math teacher recommendation.

Geometry
Algebra II
