Registration Policies & Procedures
Registration: Students New to GCPS
Documents Required for Enrollment:
- TWO proofs of residency (lease/mortgage statement AND a current gas, water, or electric bill)
- Student's birth certificate
- Enrolling parent/guardian's driver’s license or other government issued photo ID
- Student's Social Security card
- Current immunization record (Georgia Form 3231)
- Withdrawal packet from the previous school (including discipline record and current transcript/course history)
- Copy of student's current IEP, if applicable (applies to students in Special Education)
- Kinship Caregiver Affidavit form (if applicable)
**Please note that incomplete paperwork will delay your registration and your student's start date.
If you are living with another family member: Per Gwinnett County Public School's guidelines, students who live with their parents or legal guardians but reside in the home of another adult and are seeking enrollment into Gwinnett County Public Schools must complete a Residency Affidavit form and turn into your school upon registration. Kinship Caregiver Agreement: Students who live with a Kinship Caregiver (a grandparent, great-grandparent, aunt, uncle, great-uncle, sibling, or fictive kin) and are seeking enrollment in Gwinnett County Public Schools must complete a Kinship Caregiver Affidaivit form and turn it into your school upon registration.

Registration: Students Transferring from Another GCPS School
Step 1: Withdraw from your current school. To transfer schools, you must first withdraw your student from their current school. That school will provide you with a Change of Status Form and a sealed withdrawal envelope.
Step 2: Click here to schedule an appointment to meet with your counselor. Please bring the required registration documents listed below with you to the appointment. Plan to arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment to allow time for copying and reviewing your information
Step 3: Parent and student attend their scheduled appointment with a counselor

Registration: Students Previously Enrolled in a GCPS School
Students who have previously attended a GCPS school at any point in their academic career (no matter the amount of time) already have a GCPS student ID number and are considered re-enrolling students.
Step 1: Complete the GCPS online registration process: GCPS Online Registration. MAKE SURE to choose the option Registering Parent Guardian - NOT NEW to GCPS. Your Username is the email address you used when last enrolled with GCPS. If you have forgotten your password, please select 'Forgot Password' to reset it. If you are unable to log in to your existing account, please contact the counseling office at 770-682-4106 or email Barbara.Sorto@gcpsk12.org for assistance. Please do not set up a new account as this will create duplicate accounts and delay your registration process.
Step 2: After completing the online registration and uploading your documents, please click here to schedule an appointment.
Step 3: Parent and student attend their scheduled appointment to meet with a counselor.

Registration: Students New to a US School
Students who are entering a U.S. School for the first time should contact the GCPS International Newcomers Center to begin the registration process:
Step 1: Make an appointment at the International Newcomer Center by clicking here. Questions? Call 678-985-5200
Step 2: Once you have completed your appointment with the International Newcomers Center (INC) please click here to schedule an appointment at Collins Hill High School.
Step 3: Parent and student attend their scheduled appointment to meet with a counselor

Withdrawals, Address Changes, Transcripts, & Record Requests
Withdrawals
We wish your child the best during the transition to a new school. Please follow the steps below.
- Click on the link below and download/save the form to your device
- Open the downloaded form with an Adobe application
- Fill out the form
- Convert the form into a PDF and send both the form and a copy of your picture ID to Ms. Maura Pino at Maura.Pino@gcpsk12.org

Address Change Requests
If you have moved, please update your student's address as soon as possible to ensure receipt of school mailings and to remain eligible for school transportation. We are required to have updated proofs of residency on file for all students.
Only the enrolling parent/guardian is allowed to submit address changes. Please follow the steps below to update your student’s information:
1. Fill out the Address Change Form.
2. Bring the form, proofs of residency, and the enrolling parent's ID to the counseling office.
NOTE: Please allow a minimum of two (2) business days for your requests to be processed. Students WILL NOT be issued a permanent bus change until ALL required documents are received.

Transcript Requests
Transcript requests options for CURRENT students:
- FREE: Students may send transcripts to ANY College/University in Georgia for FREE through Georgia Futures. Students will need to create an account with Georgia Futures and have a Social Security Number on file with CHHS. Click here to access Georgia Futures.
- To request a paper transcript, or to send an electronic transcript using an app other than GA Futures, please visit your My Payments Plus account to submit a transcript request and to submit payment. Please allow two business days for paper transcripts to be processed. Processing time on electronic transcripts varies and may take longer.
Transcript Requests for Former Students of CHHS:
Please mail or bring the transcript request form, payment, and a copy of your photo ID, and your payment to:

Payment must either be check or exact cash amount (we are not set-up to accept credit card payments in the office, and change is not available).
PLEASE NOTE: Please allow 2 business days for transcripts to be processed.
Transcript requests for Students Who Last Attended CHHS in 2019-20 or Prior:
Collins Hill High School no longer has these records on file. You will need to visit the Gwinnett County Public School Records Office website to request your transcripts.
Note Regarding Social Security Numbers
If you are attempting to submit a transcript through Georgia Futures and are receiving an error, it is likely that we do not have your Social Security Number on file. You will need to bring a copy of your Social Security card to the Counseling Office.

To update Emergency Contact information and/or parent phone numbers:
- Log on to your Parent Portal account
- Click on ParentVue >> Student Information >> Edit Information
- Follow the prompts to update each section as needed for each student
